Our first task was to address the website's architecture. The current sitemap was bloated with many repeated pages and overly complex user flows. We knew that the site needed to be reduced and restructured, but weren't quite sure how to organize our content areas
We assessed the most important content areas of the current MyGarage website, and developed a card sorting exercise for user testing. The tests gave us insight into how our users grouped our content areas.

After we reviewing our user test findings, we were able to address our new sitemap structure. The current sitemap was audited and reviewed to ensure we covered all business needs. Then we were able to build out a new, streamlined sitemap.
The new sitemap addressed earlier redundancies and confusing user flows. The new map is considerably smaller and more focused. The new sitemap also includes authenticated and unauthenticated user states.

The next step was to perform a full design audit of the MyGarage website. This included identifying outdated components, page templates, and revisiting colors and typography. We needed to determine which design components were still useful, which could be modified and which needed to be replaced and rebuilt entirely.
Once the audit was complete, we were able to refine our design system and move forward with updating user flows.

After meeting with our business stakeholders, we were able to identify several user stories to accomplish our business goals. We broke these down by MyGarage webpage sections like Homepage, My Products, Account, and Help Center. With these user stories we were then able to identify which flows currently existed and which needed adjustments or creation.
Each flow needed to be vetted by additional stakeholders to ensure we had approval for development. Once approved, we were ready to build out our main flows for primary review. After these were created, we were then able to build out more detailed flows.
